Your Library Card

Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.

Who can get a card
Membership is open to everyone with a Texas ID and library cards are FREE. For 18+, we require a driver's license or state ID.

For those under 18, we require an adult (parent, grandparent, etc.) to be a card holder and "co-sign" for the card. Both adult and child must be present to sign up for a card.

How to Get Your Card

  1. Simply fill out an application in the library.
  2. Bring your ID if you are over 18.
  3. New card holders are limited to one item for their first checkout.

Borrowing Limits
All items have a two-week loan period. Books and audiobooks can be renewed twice if there is no waiting list. Video materials (DVDs, videogames, etc.) cannot be renewed and are limited to three per card.

A total of 10 items may be checked out at one time.

Placing Holds
You may ask library staff to place holds for you, or you can also use our catalog to maintain your own list. There is also an option in the catalog to "reserve express" your favorite authors.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items
You may renew items (except videos) in person, by phone or via our catalog. If you are signed up for the three-day advance due date warning by text or email, you can reply to that message to request a renewal. We will respond with a new due date.

Library Fines
Book and audiobook fines are 10 cents per day up to $3.00 per item.

DVD and video game fines are $0.50 per day up to $10 per item.
