Part-time, 20 hours per week, generally in the afternoon. Some flexibility is necessary in order to operate the library if other staff or volunteers are unavailable to cover scheduled library hours. Starting wage is $8/hour.

Job Description

Assists Library Director with all aspects of library operation.

Performs routine library services such as receiving and loaning materials, returning materials to shelves, and preparing new materials for use. Includes circulation desk duties such as issuing library cards, checking collection materials in and out, and collecting fines.

Performs customer service duties, such as assisting users in locating desired materials or information, helping with public computers or personal tablets or other devices, answering phone, and handling complaints.

Prepares and presents library programs for children (i.e. Story Time, Summer Reading Program, etc.), and may also assist in programs for adults.

Other requirements: Ability to use MS Office, to lift up to 20 pounds, and high school diploma or equivalent required.
