Whitewright Public Library Announces Summer Programs

Summer Reading Program for Toddler through Elementary, and Anime and Manga program for Teens.

The library’s summer reading program will be Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m., July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. Reading, activities, and a book of your own to take home each week! If you have new or lightly used children’s books, please consider donating them to the library to use as prizes this summer.

The Library is also hosting an Anime and Manga Program on Thursdays, from 1 – 7 p.m., July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. This will be a “come and go” program, with Anime programs selected by attendees via the library’s special Crunchyroll.com account. Please note most shows are unrated, but are roughly equivalent to PG-13. Teens can discuss other anime and manga, as well as bring their own snacks to enjoy.

It’s not long until the library’s annual sale, scheduled for August 14th and 15th. Items donated or weeded from the collection will be on sale to raise funds for the purchase of new library materials. Volunteers are needed in the days before the sale to sort items; please contact the library if you would like more information.

For more information, call 903-364-2955. The library is also on Facebook and Twitter.
