Your Library Card

Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.

Who can get a card
Membership is open to everyone with a Texas ID and library cards are FREE. For 18+, we require a driver's license or state ID.

For those under 18, we require an adult (parent, grandparent, etc.) to be a card holder and "co-sign" for the card. Both adult and child must be present to sign up for a card.

How to Get Your Card

  1. Simply fill out an application in the library (we do not have online registration).
  2. Bring your ID if you are over 18.
  3. New card holders are limited to one item for their first checkout.

Borrowing Limits
All items have a two-week loan period. Items can be automatically renewed twice if your card is in good standing and there are no reserves.

A total of 10 items may be checked out at one time. There is a limit of 3 videos.

Placing Holds
You may ask library staff to place holds for you, or you can also use our catalog to maintain your own list. There is also an option in the catalog to "reserve express" your favorite authors, and you'll automatically be on the list for new titles.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items

Items will automatically renew twice if your card is in good standing and there are no reserves.

You may also renew items in person, by phone or via our catalog.
