Whitewright Public Library

Apply for a digital library card

The Whitewright Public Library offers a digital library card free of charge. It allows the use of the library’s digital collection, which includes eBooks, eAudiobooks, databases, and more.

Using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, users can access the digital collection 24/7, making it perfect for those who might not otherwise be able to visit the library during business hours.

All titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!

As with other library materials, individuals must accept responsibility for evaluating the content of resources they view, read, or listen to. Monitoring and any restriction of a child’s access is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.

Patrons cannot check out physical items or access other library features until they visit the library in person to apply for a full service library card.

Anyone meeting the following requirements may sign up for a digital library card:

1. Reside in the State of Texas.
2. Be over 18, or have permission of parent guardian.
3. Have a valid email address.

After filling out the application, staff will enter it into the library’s system, and email your new library card number to you. Please allow time for this, as staff enter applications manually about once a week. If applications are incomplete, we will not be able to issue a card (ex. not including an email address or phone number, or not including your date of birth). This information is required for our statistics and/or are necessary for logging in to the digital library.

If you already have a WPL card, you do not need to apply for a digital card, it's already included with a regular card.

Digital Library Cards are valid for two years, and may be renewed by sending an email request or calling 903-364-2955.
