New Companion Cat

For cozy contentment, there’s nothing like a cat purring peacefully in your lap, something patrons of the Whitewright Public Library will soon be able to enjoy. Introducing our Library of Things newest addition: the companion kitty, a battery-powered pet created by Hasbro’s Joy For All that looks, feels, and sounds like a real cat.

Aimed at ages 5-105, this pet was originally intended for older adults with Alzheimer’s or other dementias, but also serves to benefit those unable to partake in pet ownership due to allergies, expenses, or even housing prohibitions. The companion kitty responds to petting, hugging, and motion much like the real ones you know and love but doesn’t require any special care or feeding. This new feline friend will soon be available for checkout free with your library card.
