Summer Reading at the Library
This year’s Summer Reading Program begins on June 1st. Kids can pick up their “brag tag” (choose from 10 different designs), then every time they visit the library through August 4th, they’ll get a bead to add to their tag chain.
We’ll have weekly drawings for plush animals. This year we have a red-tailed hawk, great horned owl, armadillo, opossum, and a variety of Squishmallows to choose from. Each time you check out materials from June 1st to August 3rd, your library receipt will be entered for a chance to win.
There will be a treasure hunt in June and July. Pick up a copy of the search list at the library, and bring it in before the end of July to select a prize from our treasure chest. You can also scan the sign in the library’s entryway to start the hunt. Our thanks go out to local businesses for participating, but we can’t reveal their names yet or we’ll spoil the hunt.
Join us in July and August for these great programs:
July 12 - Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, Odeum Theater @ 10 a.m. Education about conserving birds of prey and wildlife. Seating is limited, first come, first served.
July 19 - Touch-a-Truck, Whitewright Public Library @ 10 a.m. View city vehicles such as the firetruck and ambulance up close.
