Whitewright Public Library

Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Program

This summer we are encouraging people to visit the library.  We will have weekly drawings on Mondays for grab bag prizes for all ages.  When you check out any item in June and July, you will be automatically entered in our drawing.  Limit one entry per day.

We are also doing “Read and Bead” this year.  Starting June 1st, when kids come to the library they can pick a “brag tag” (choose from 10 different tags) and a bead to go on a necklace.  Then every time they come to the library throughout the summer they get a bead, so make sure to bring your necklace with you when you visit us.

Texas Game Warden Randolph McGee is coming on June 16th at 9 am and we will be having Touch-A-Truck July 14th at 9 am.  These programs will be outside with plenty of room for social distancing, out of an abundance of caution.  We also have special beads for these programs.

Parker Duke will be bringing some of his reptile friends for a visit on July 28th at 9 am. This program will be outside, so please bring a lawn chair.

There will be “Take and Make” craft packets throughout the summer (while supplies last).  Please check out our Facebook page for the latest news, activities, and more.  Look for our Summer Reading Facebook Group for weekly postings and join us for some extra summer fun to do at home.
