Craft Swap
Do you have gently used craft supplies taking up space and need a refresh? Drop them off at the Whitewright Public Library beginning Thursday, April 23rd and receive tickets for the swap. Come back Thursday, April 30th, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-7 p.m. with your tickets and go shopping for new materials to re-stock your stash! Friday, May 1st, 10 a.m. to noon and 1-5:30 p.m. will be a “clearance sale” with remaining items free to take without tickets.
Guidelines:
· If you wouldn't give your items to a friend, please consider recycling, composting, or other disposal method rather than donating them.
· All items should be clean, or gently used, and in the original packaging. If the original packing isn’t available, place donated items in a clean zip lock bag.
· All categories of craft supplies are accepted. Please keep in mind this event is for all ages when considering your donation.
· No partial bottles of glue, glue-type liquids, spray paint, or paint thinners or additives.
· Please drop donations off with library staff. Do not put items in return bins or leave objects in front of doors.
· The library reserves the right to reject any item deemed inappropriate.
· Any unclaimed items will be used in library programs or donated elsewhere.
Suggested items to donate include:
· Yarn
· Fabric and felt
· Ribbon
· Knitting needles, crochet hooks, stitch counters, etc.
· Needlework kits (counted cross stitch, embroidery, etc.)
· Embroidery/needlework supplies (hoops, floss, Aida fabric, etc.)
· Sewing notions (thread, trim/binding, zippers, buttons, etc.)
· Rubber stamps, useable ink pads, embossing tools/heat tools
· Scrapbooking or card-making supplies, scrapbook embellishments
· Paper and cardstock for card-making/scrapbooking
· Greeting cards
· Beads & beading supplies
· Jewelry making supplies and tools
· Art supplies, useable art paints, brushes, canvases, graphite/pastels, art paper
· Silk flowers/florals/greenery and foam cores/shapes for silk floral arrangements
· Decorative containers/baskets for floral arrangements
· Instructional craft books and pattern books—knitting, crochet, quilting/sewing, cross-stitch
· Patterns—clothing, doll clothing, home décor
· Small wood cutouts, unpainted
· Picture frames (empty), framing supplies
· Craft fun foam sheets or shapes
· Stencils
· Useable children’s crafts—kits or supplies
· Tools in clean, working order with owner’s manual included
